How do you verify someone actually graduated from a University? (Arizona State Univ.) Are there lists?

April 172010

I am suspicious that this person is lying to me about graduating from Arizona State University. Does anyone know if alumni lists are available online or how I could know for sure?

When I worked in credentialing, we had to have the permission of someone (the person we are requesting the information on) before requesting verification of their degree. Most schools now use studentclearinghouse.com or something along those lines (and for a fee). There are some, however, where you can verify the information right over the phone by contacting the school’s registrar’s office.

You can request a list of graduates directly from the dean’s office. they are always happy to share and tell you how many graduates they had. schools love to brag you know.
