Rent a car in Az to travel to Mexico
Actually you can rent a car and drive to Rocky Point. Budget allows this. There are strict rules you must abide by. Foremost is purchasing additional auto insurance for Mexican coverage. This is done at the U.S. rental car location only. You cannot buy Mexican insurance on U.S. rental vehicles in Mexico.

The cost of insurance will be $30 per day for most classes of vehicles. Some larger or more expensive vehicles will require $40 per day.
In addition not all Budget locations permit Mexican travel. Authorizing locations are limited to Arizona, Texas and California.
You can only drive a rental car into Mexico as far as the 28th parallel which is Guerrero Negro or 250 into the Free Zone.
When consumating your rental contract you will need your license, credit card and passport.
After researching all this stuff I think it would be easier and cheaper to just go to San Diego. Whew!

Technically I’m not suppossed to be living in the US, but I have a valid passport and ID’s (canadian). If we travel together…will I have any problems because I’m not suppossed to be living here?
but? you are not saying that you will live in the US? you are saying that you want to travel only? do you have any restrictions on going to the US?if indeed you have restrictions en entering US soil? then do not go……..
I want to be a travel agent but there are many companies that require experience, I don’t have any exept in other sales.
If you want to get involed in the travel industry- especially in Az – Apply for a job at US Airways in Tempe, Az – this is where they are based and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is one of their main hubs. Start there and move up. US Airways trains potential employees from the ground up and only require a HS. Diploma or GED to start working. Of course if you don’t have a degree etc etc. you would apply to work as a Ramp Agent or at the CS Center, there are many jobs you can get here in AZ in the travel industry without extensive experience and spending tons of money for licenses. Goodluck.
P.S. Remember, that in this world of new technologies, walk-in travel agencies are becoming scarce and less needed. Not hitting down Travel Agents but it’s the truth. You can book almost everything online without the need for an in person visit.

Without looking up the specifics it’s going to be Amtrak to Chicago then Amtraks Southwest Chief train to Flagstaff AZ then about a 1/2 mile walk to the bus station and Nava-Hopi bus to Grand Canyon NP
Flagstaff is a cool -literally -and inexpensive place to spend a night or two while in transit
