what is the best affordable suburb in arizona?

i heard it is fountain hills? i am 18. have my high school diploma and im planning to live on my own by working a full time job. i was wondering what is the cost of rent of a studio apartment. what would be the best place for me to live in arizona? in fact what is the cheapest/lowest cost of living state in america, is it texas?

Fountain hills is all old people. Look into Chandler, North Phoenix, Surprise, Anthem, Peoria. These are all right near Phoenix.
Yuma is cheaper but it’s 2.5 hours from Phoenix out in the desert- it is only 2.5 hours to San Diego though so that’s fun!
Studio apartments in non ghetto areas are on average 550/month.

The cheapest states are most likely south- Texas, Miss, Arkansas, or middle states where no one wants to live- Oklahoma, Kansas.
East coast and west coast are expensive.

Which Arizona university would be the best choice for a music education major?

March 212010

Posted in arizona | 1 Comment »

The ones I’ve been looking at the most are Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, and University of Arizona. Academically, U of A seems like the best choice (of course, I’m only going off of what’s on their web sites), but NAU is in a beautiful setting and charming community! Although it seems like there is a bigger culture and more music opportunities in the Phoenix/Tempe area.

For some more background info, I’m a California resident and a music major (singer), hoping to transfer in Fall of 2010.

Any suggestions and input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

NAU is your choice without a doubt! It’s the smallest of the Arizona Universities so you get a lot of one on one attention. Also, Flagstaff is a small town so there are lots of local bands and free shows. NAU has a great music program and a great education program as well. It’s a beautiful campus and you will be able to really get to know your professors. Set up a visit to the campus and see for yourself!! Good luck!

Do Arizona and Nevada also have the maneuverability test as part of the driving test?

A buddy who’s been out west told me that Nevada and Arizona don’t have the maneuverability test as part of their driving tests, but I don’t believe it’s true. Why would midwest states have it, but not states out west?

Can someone hook me up with the correct info?

In florida we dont have to do that.
Check wikipedia, or wait for a better answer.

how to renew driver license to arizona if original license is from california?

March 172010

Posted in arizona | 2 Comments »

I’m planning to move to Arizona end of this year. My driver’s license renewal is end of next year. What will i do?
Do i need to take another written exam? Like start over again.

You have 6 months after you move to a new state to get a new drivers liscense with your new states address on it. Don’t panic. It happens all the time. Just find the DMV near where you live and tell them you moved. You may need to bring your social security card as well.

Raising Arizona – Diaper Robbery

Requested by my Mom. ;-) This is one of the funniest scenes from the 1987 comedy movie, “Raising Arizona”. H.I. McDunnough (Nicloas Cage), an ex-convict, tries to steal some “Huggies” diapers for the baby he and his wife (Holly Hunter) kidnapped. Hilarity ensues as the cops, store clerks, and even dogs chase him!

I am an ordained minister in arizona. What do I need to do before performing a marriage?

March 152010

Posted in arizona | 1 Comment »

I am an ordianed minister in Arizona. I know the couple needs to get their marriage liscence and I know I need two witnesses to sign it in addition to the couple and myself. What I need to know is what I should do before hand. Do I need to register or certify with the state? Do I send my ordination proclimation anywhere? I have been asked to perform my first wedding and I need to know how to make it ligit!

AZ does not require the clergy person to register. Call the court clerk’s office that issues the certificate and they can confirm this. Make sure the couple has a valid marriage license, it is filled out properly, and returned promptly to the clerk’s office.

Good luck!

How many miles of coastline does Arizona have?

March 132010

How many miles of coastline does Arizona have? I once heard it was more than California. And Yes Arizona has coastline, I live here and Arizona has a ton of lakes. The definition of a coastline is a line that forms the boundary between the land and the ocean or a lake.

Wrong definition – a coast is the land next to a sea or ocean – not a lake.
