AZ DE SOL Food: Queen Creek Olive Mill Tour (Pt. 1)
April 172010
Queen Creek Olive Mill (www.queencreekolivemill.com) is owned
by the Rea family. Perry Rea started this olive oil operation as a hobby and it wasn’t long after he bottled some of it for a few friends that it quickly grew into a full-time agri-tourism business that includes a restaurant, specialty shop featuring local artisan cheeses, boutique wines, and a restaurant. Now, many high-profile Valley chefs and restaurants use his incredibly fresh olive oil in their
culinary creations. After trying a few samples for ourselves, I can see why the Mill’s olive oil is so popular among chefs. It is truly the best tasting olive oil that I have ever
tasted. After the tour, Lita, Mom and I checked out what was available in the store and were so impressed by the variety of olive oils available (as you’ll see in the video) as well as
the assortment of boutique wines. Best part of all, everything was reasonably priced, including the wine, so it was easy to buy a lot. Our personal olive oil favorites are Meyer Lemon, Vanilla and Blood Orange, so far. We’ll definitely go back to the Mill in the fall for the olive harvest to stock up for the holidays. In the meantime, we hope that you will check out Queen Creek Olive Mill and support this wonderful, local farming family. Namaste.

Visiting Arizona from Chicago? This travel spot highlights the variety that Arizona has to offer, from the Grand Canyon to shopping in downtown Scottsdale. And although we love the ‘other’ cities featured in the spots, the concept was to encourage the desire of Chicagoans to visit (or revisit) the Grand Canyon State. With the Cubs and the Sox here for Spring Training, Arizona really is like a second home anyway.

Visiting Arizona from LA? This travel spot highlights the variety that Arizona has to offer, from the Colorado River to golf in Phoenix. And although we love Southern California (don’t tell anyone, but we visit LA from time to time), the concept was to encourage the desire of Southern California residents to visit (or revisit) the Grand Canyon State. Sometimes you just need to get away, right?
http://chris.pirillo.com/ – Arizona looks amazing from the air. And yes, that’s the Grand Canyon. At the end is a “Bloom” – a natural rainbow-ish phenomenon.
