Rolando Flores, J.D., Assistant Attorney General, is the first member of the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe to earn a law degree in more than 50 years. Mr. Flores tells us that he grew up in Old Pasqua and always wanted to help his Tribe. He earned his law degree at the University of Arizona in a unique program specializing in indigenous people. He says “I couldn’t have found this opportunity anywhere else.”
Jacob Jensen tells us that UofA researchers are working on ways to someday reverse juvenile diabetes. Hearth Transplant recipient Bill Wohl tells us that he is living proof how research leads to results. UofA surgeons have developed the only FDA approved total artificial heart. Sonya Gutierrez, a breast cancer survivor, applauds the work of UofA oncologists to create innovative cancer therapies.
Prof. Gene Giacomelli of the University of Arizona’s College of Agriculture & Life Sciences tells us how the UofA is perfecting techniques to grow incredible tomatoes using very little water and no pesticides. We’ve shared our knowledge with growers throughout Arizona and helped to create 1,000 new jobs.
